Youth-Reach Gulf Coast (YRGC) was excited to welcome Tom Miller of Tom Tom’s Flutes, which specializes in Native American-style flutes and wood crafts. Tom taught a flute-making class in our Life Skills building, where each participant started off with a raw piece of bamboo and learned to craft his own flute.
YRGC serves at-risk young men and focuses on developing character, responsibility and a strong work ethic. Not only do we facilitate emotional healing and healthy relationships, we also teach practical skills for everyday life.
Life Skills workshops like this one help develop craftsmanship and dexterity, which can be applied to countless real-world experiences. We’re thankful to Tom for his expertise and mentorship through this class. His company slogan is Proclaiming God’s Glory to the Nations, which is a shared mission here at YRGC.
